Our Native Seed Library was recently highlighted on New Day Cleveland on Fox 8 News, shining a spotlight on how native plants play a vital role in supporting healthy ecosystems across Northeast Ohio. The segment highlights what native seeds are, why they benefit pollinators and wildlife, and how winter sowing gives seeds the natural conditions they need to thrive.
The feature includes insights from West Creek Land Manager Danielle Dejak and Kimberly Lessman, Seed Bank Manager of Holden Forests & Gardens, emphasizing the importance of partnerships in expanding access to native plants and environmental education.
In partnership with The Holden Arboretum, The Ohio EPA, and Cox Charities Northeast we’re distributing 12,000 free native seed packets through libraries, parks, and community spaces, making it easier for residents to take part in conservation at home.
