What We Do
We turn shared passion into meaningful action. Our work spans three interconnected areas:

Native Nursery – Growing the trees, shrubs, and wildflowers that support healthy ecosystems

Native Seed Library – Collecting and preparing seeds to expand access to native plants across Northeast Ohio

Field Kitchen – Providing hands-on food and nature education that strengthens our relationship to the land
Each of these programs helps people engage with nature in practical, joyful, and impactful ways.
Learning and Growing as a Community
Creekside Collaborative Partners is a space where learning takes root and native plants thrive. Through volunteer days, workshops, and community partnerships, people of all ages discover how native plants, healthy soils, and sustainable food practices can transform neighborhoods. Together, we’re building ecological awareness and strengthening community resilience.
Project Partners
Creekside Collaborative Partners is managed by West Creek Conservancy in partnership with Cuyahoga Soil & Water Conservation District, City of Parma, and McDougald’s Pollination Station
Cuyahoga Soil & Water Conservation District is studying the effects of mycorrhizal fungi on soil structure and root health in urban soils in our growing enclosure.
We are also supporting The Holden Arboretum as they create a local ecotype seed bank intended to reforest the lower Great Lakes region.
Our Roots
Since 2022, Creekside Collaborative Partners (formerly Stearns Native Nursery) has expanded its reach with a 1.5-acre growing enclosure, a large hoop house, and a staging area that protects and supports our expanding nursery stock. Over 800 native trees—including keystone species such as oak, willow, and cherry—are growing onsite, ready to one day cool our neighborhoods, clean our air, and restore the urban tree canopy.
Beyond propagation, Creekside Collaborative is a place of study and connection. Together with partners like Cuyahoga Soil & Water Conservation District, the City of Parma, and McDougald’s Pollination Station, we’re working to create a more resilient and sustainable community.
