With support from the General Motors Foundation for 2026 and 2027, West Creek Conservancy’s Stream Monitoring programs will reach more than 800 students from 12 schools across the region.
The programs bring together staff from West Creek Conservancy, Cleveland Metroparks, Cuyahoga Soil and Water Conservation District, Cleveland Museum of Natural History, and GM Metal Fabrication Division in Parma. Students learn about stream structure, stormwater management, water chemistry, and aquatic organisms, along with methods for evaluating stream habitat quality.
Originally launched by Big Creek Connects and Bob Gardin, the programs continue their legacy of environmental education by helping students understand local waterways and become active stewards of their watersheds.
