Spring Native Garden Cleanup

Ready to wake up your native garden after winter? Join us for a lively, hands-on volunteer workshop all about spring native garden maintenance! This isn’t just a cleanup—it’s a chance to learn by doing alongside staff while giving an established native garden the care it needs to thrive.
We’ll roll up our sleeves and work together while covering the why behind spring garden tasks. You’ll learn how to confidently tackle spring cleanup in your own yard—what to cut back, what to leave for pollinators, and how to tell native seedlings from weeds. Expect practical tips, live demonstrations, and plenty of time to ask questions as we go.
You’ll walk away with skills like:
- Knowing when and how to cut back native plants in spring
- Spotting native volunteers vs. unwanted weeds
- Supporting pollinators and wildlife during early-season maintenance
- Feeling more confident caring for your own native garden
Whether you’re brand-new to native plants or already gardening at home, this is a great way to learn, connect, and make a visible impact. Come get your hands dirty, boost your native gardening confidence, and help a wildflower garden shine this spring!
What to know:
- Dress for the outdoors. This event will be held outdoors at our Creekside Collaborative Partners site, so please wear comfortable, weather‑appropriate clothing and shoes. You are welcome to bring work/garden gloves if you have them, but we will have some available.
- Check your email before arriving. In the event that we may need to adjust plans or cancel, all updates will be sent via email.
We appreciate your help and look forward to working alongside you as we prepare our gardens for the growing season!
