Join Us for a Purple Martin House‑Raising Celebration!
In partnership with the Western Cuyahoga Audubon Society
We’re thrilled to announce a special community event at our Creekside Collaborative Partners site in the heart of Parma: the installation and raising of a brand‑new Purple Martin house!
Purple Martins—beautiful, acrobatic songbirds—have experienced population declines due to habitat loss and competition from invasive species. East of the Rocky Mountains, these birds depend almost entirely on human‑provided housing, making our community’s involvement especially meaningful.
Come celebrate the opening of our Purple Martin home, learn why these birds are so unique, and take part in fun, hands-on activities for all ages!
What to Expect
Educational Talk
A guest speaker from the Western Cuyahoga Audubon Society will share fascinating insights about Purple Martins, their migration, and how communities like ours can support local bird populations.
Raffle: Gourd Nest Box Preparation
Enter for the chance to get a Gourd Nest Box cleaned, nest material placed, and ready to hang as part of the Purple Martin housing system.
Crafts & Kid‑Friendly Fun
Origami, coloring sheets, word searches, and more—perfect activities for young nature lovers.
The Main Event: House Raising Ceremony
Watch as we officially raise the Purple Martin house and take a community step toward supporting native wildlife.
