Royal Catchfly

Royal Catchfly (Silene regia) is relatively easy to grow at home but not often seen in the wild anymore. It has scarlet, trumpet-shaped flowers that are loved by hummingbirds. It also has sticky leaves that catch small insects, which die and are broken down just enough by the plant’s digestive enzymes to deter herbivores like rabbits and deer.
