Making Nature Your Neighbor
We are all together in getting through these tumultuous times. It has become imperative to connect to, and experience Nature if physically or virtually. Throughout Northeast Ohio there are gems to enjoy that are “low risk”, can help you get that breath of fresh air that you deserve, and will connect you to the natural world in which we live. Join us as we continue our journey to explore sites throughout our region and get our weekly West Creek Wednesday: Nature Fix! Together, we’ll explore some well-known trails and hidden gems we think you’ll be excited to learn more about.
The Hike: Euclid Waterfront in Sims Park
Address: 23131 Lakeshore Blvd, Euclid, OH 44123
For this week’s installment, we ventured to the Northcoast on the near east side of Cleveland in the beautiful City of Euclid, Ohio. Lake Erie Access is a precious amenity of the Greater Cleveland area, and this park is a prime example of one that must be visited. The crashing of waves, the quiet pier, the beach, and greenspace encompass an experience that will leave you centered and your body calm in a time that can be of one that, without an outlet, feel overwhelming.
What Else to Know
- Stay for dusk. The sunset at Sims Park is beautiful.
- Visitors should note that part of the park is still under construction.
Conservation/Trail Work
The development of a Lakefront Trail connecting to Sims Park is in the works. This transformative project is creating even more access to our lakefront and is a precedent for the region that shows the investment and stewardship. The first ½ mile lakefront trail is accessible to pedestrians and cyclists in addition to the pre-existing trails in Sims Park.

Join us weekly for your Nature Fix as we tour properties throughout the region and extend the work of West Creek Conservancy onto your devices.
