The Field Kitchen

Fuel the Fresh Food Revolution

Join Creekside Field Kitchen’s Garden Gourmet Camp

Creekside Field Kitchen’s Summer Camps offer a unique summer experience where kids connect with food, nature, and the land through hands-on learning.

Campers will help plant and harvest fruits and vegetables, take home what they grow, and learn how to prepare simple, nutritious recipes using fresh ingredients. Beyond the garden, campers will explore organic gardening techniques, learn why healthy soil matters, and engage in activities that build curiosity and confidence outdoors. Sessions are available throughout the summer for grades 3 to 8!

Revolutionary Food Engagement

A revolution is a driver for change that leads people to think differently about something and we strive to help people think differently about food.

On our quest to deliver Revolutionary Food Engagement, our expert staff has developed curriculum which helps students of all ages learn where food comes from, how to grow it themselves, and most importantly, what to do with it once they’ve got it.

Our programs are designed to engage your senses, hone your skills, and strengthen your ability to care for yourself and the land around you.

Rooted in Community. Growing the Future.

We thrive on our ability to meet students and families where they are—whether in the field, in the classroom, or remotely. This flexibility continues to make our educational approach truly unique. That strength is now fueling our next chapter as we transplant our Learning Garden to our new Hub of Revolutionary Food Engagement™, located at Creekside Collaborative Partners in the heart of Parma, Ohio.

This move places us in the backyard of Parma City Schools and positions us closer to our strategic partners, reducing travel time and expanding access to immersive, onsite learning experiences. Our goal remains clear: to educate future generations about our food system as it was intended to be—empowering healthy lifestyles and thriving communities through hands-on culinary and agricultural education. In short, it’s Revolutionary Food Engagement™.

In the Classroom + Communituy

MOBILE KITCHEN + GARDEN (50 MINUTES)

We partner with school and community organizations to deliver immersive agricultural and culinary experiences anywhere from the classroom to school garden spaces to Zoom. Students are engaged in the full cycle of food: growing, cooking, eating, and composting! Program includes a presentation, culinary demo, tasting, and enrichment activities geared toward developing culinary self-reliance, food literacy, and knowledge of nutrition, and we are happy to work with you to tailor the content to suit your group.

$450 for up to 30 people; additional participants may be added for $15 each

Also, ask us about how we can help you start a school garden! From a couple raised garden beds to a full installation, we have the experience and expertise to design, build, and plan your interactive, outdoor learning space.

Free Online Curriculum

We’re excited to announce the launch of Local Lessons for Growing Minds, an online curriculum focused on changing the way students connect to their community food system! It’s fast, easy to access and 100% free.

Local Lessons for Growing Minds encourages students to understand local food systems and how to make healthy food choices, learn about the importance of where their food comes from and connect lesson topics across different STEM subjects and courses.

Our engaging multi-media lessons focus on the Field Kitchen’s core principles:

  • Inspire young minds to make mindful choices about what they eat.

  • Connect schools, homes and communities by providing practical information about sourcing, eating, and promoting local foods that nourish young students.

The lessons include video interviews with local producers, worksheets & activities, and easy recipes for cafeteria use and for students to take home.

This initiative meets state STEM educational curriculum requirements and teaches life skills students can use outside of the classroom! Our lessons are pre-planned for seamless classroom delivery and come with materials like teacher discussion guides and enrichment activities tiered for different grade levels.

Sign up your classroom, organization or family for Local Lessons for Growing Minds today!

Local Lessons For Growing Minds was developed in collaboration with our grant partners, Feed Our Future, Pisanick Partners, and Muse Content Group.
