The Board of Directors of West Creek Conservancy recently elected three new members to its ranks.  They are:  Maribeth Feke, Director of Programming & Planning at Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority; Connor Redman, Associate at Colliers International; and Tracey Rock, Accounting Manager at Cohen & Co.  “We are excited to welcome these energetic new directors to represent West Creek Conservancy in the Greater Cleveland community,” says Board Chair Jeff Lennartz.  “Tracey, Maribeth, and Connor each bring capabilities that will strengthen the Conservancy and help us better advance its urban conservation mission.”

The new board members join re-elected Directors Michael Craig of Tucker Ellis LLP, Parma resident Dorothy Hazel, and Rich Weiser, Executive Vice President of Global Operations at CSA Group, and six continuing Directors to make up the 2017 Board.  Mr. Craig and Mr. Weiser are each starting their 2nd term while Ms. Hazel, a long-time member of the Conservancy, is starting her 7th.

For their outstanding service to West Creek Conservancy, Mr. Lennartz thanked outgoing Directors George Cantor (of City of Cleveland Planning Department), Jeremy Depinet (of Meaden & Moore, LLP), and Terry Greathouse (of Cuyahoga Community College).  Over his two terms, Mr. Cantor assisted in greenway development and chaired the Conservancy’s Land & Greenways Committee.  Mr. Greathouse and Mr. Depinet each completed one term.  As Chair of the Stewardship Committee, Mr. Greathouse organized volunteer work days to reclaim degraded habitats by removing invasive species and replacing them with native plantings.  He also spearheaded the creation of Spring Hill Nursery, the Conservancy’s native plant nursery, economically providing native seedlings for urban land restoration. Mr. Depinet was elected to the Executive Committee as Treasurer, and chaired the Finance Committee.  “George, Terry, and Jeremy plan to continue working on the committees they led as Board members,” says Lennartz, “for which we are extremely grateful.”

West Creek Conservancy calls upon its Directors to take active rolls in applying their skills and passion to further the goals of the Conservancy.  If you are interested in serving on the West Creek Conservancy Board of Directors, or would like to nominate someone, please contact Board Development Committee Chair Eric Sluss at 216.749.3720 or ericmsluss@yahoo.com.
