Karen Vargo

I am honored to be a member of the West Creek Conservancy Board because I want to help preserve Cleveland’s title as the “Forest City.” Growing up in Northeast Ohio I enjoyed the Metro Parks and Lake Erie but I was dismayed to see the green space shrinking.  

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from The Ohio State University and I received my medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio.  As a pediatrician at the Cleveland Clinic, I know how important it is for the physical and mental wellbeing of children and adults to get outside and commune with nature.  I am pleased to be part of an organization that is helping to reclaim and restore green space and waterways for current and future generations to enjoy.
