Once mature\, these plants will either get planted at one of our sites to increase biodiversity or go out to the public through our plant sale or a public event. \nHelp us with various farm activities as we grow native wildflowers and trees! \nActivities could include one or more of the following: \n\nWeeding and general cleanup\nUp-potting plant inventory\nSetting up shade structures\nBuilding protective propagation caging\nMoving plant inventory\nWildflower garden work\nAnd more!\n\nThis is a great hands-on opportunity to support our restoration \, work outdoors\, and contribute to a conservation nonprofit. No prior experience is needed—just a willingness to help and get a little dirty! \nWhat to know: \n\nDress for the outdoors. This event will be held outdoors at our Creekside Collaborative Partners site\, so please wear comfortable\, weather‑appropriate clothing and shoes. You are welcome to bring work/garden gloves if you have them\, but we will have some available.\nCheck your email before arriving. SUMMARY:Hike Opportunity - West Creek Reservation - Parma in Cuyahoga County
DESCRIPTION:Explore nature from a river’s point of view. We will get wet as we hike down the middle of West Creek heading south from the Watershed Stewardship Center. West Creek Conservancy in partnership with Cleveland Metroparks has worked hard to protect\, restore\, and connect riparian green spaces\, one parcel at a time\, to create West Creek Reservation. \nThe hike will highlight how humans have altered the stream valley through urban growth. Participants will observe the stream in action\, as we compare a section of more natural stream valley to a highly altered section of stream valley. It will be over moderate to rough terrain (rocky riverbeds) so a walking stick and waterproof rubber knee-high boots\, or sturdy tennis shoes that can get wet\, are recommended.
