West Creek Conservancy is seeking resources to sponsor our 2017 Intern Program and invite you to help us provide pivotal workforce development skills for our incoming interns.

THE PROBLEM

For over two decades West Creek Conservancy has been “Making Nature Our Neighbor” throughout Greater Cleveland. Our diverse conservation projects and programs have benefited greatly from the effort, energy, and enthusiasm contributed by Interns. But our success in these efforts has created a problem.

West Creek Conservancy has become the place for college students to compete for an internship. Local students recognize that an internship with the Conservancy provides a crucial career supplement to a college degree. We provide hands-on, real-world experience with a career network of Conservancy partners. Our expert staff focuses not on creating assessments, reports, and proposals, but on tangible, transforming accomplishments.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Our problem is your opportunity. Your business or organization can partner with the Conservancy to sponsor an Intern at West Creek Conservancy.

Our Internship Program is not one size fits all. Instead, it is individually designed. The appropriate duration, work schedule, compensation, and firsthand experience are determined for each student we select.

College is expensive. Superior students strive to minimize their debt, while maximizing their potential for career success. West Creek Conservancy can help achieve both goals. One hundred percent of your support provides the hourly compensation for your Intern recipient. West Creek Conservancy provides everything else.

West Creek interns are submerged in the day-to-day life of the organization, which integrates them into a vast array of projects and programs. This year’s Intern Program term runs May to August and offers several fields of study, including:

  • Environmental sciences/natural resources (engineering, geology, botany)
  • Sustainability
  • Business and marketing
  • Non-profit/organizational management and development/event planning

We are looking to bring on 5 interns this season, for a total expected cost of $15,000. All levels of support are vital; exclusivity of program support is available, but to discuss, please call Derek at 216-749-3720 ext. 12 or email dschafer@westcreek.org.

All West Creek Conservancy Intern Sponsors will also be invited to a luncheon meet and greet with the interns at the end of the season!
