When we moved to our present address, we walked down to West Creek from the end of our street. The grandchildren loved it when my husband gave them "nature lessons" during these walks. My husband was the Assistant City Engineer for Parma in the 1960's and was aware that the original purchase was intended to be parkland. His knowledge and respect for nature was important to him and when WCPC formed, he wanted the park to be a reality.  His illness made it difficult for him to be very active and when he died, I became more active as a memorial to him.
